We often think that we were born again when we received Jesus into our hearts. You may have heard brothers and sisters say: “I’ve been in the Lord for 15 years.” But the truth is that we have been in the Lord since the creation of the world. [Eph.1:4]

It’s the same with healing. We may think that the Lord healed us on such-and-such a date, but the Word of God says that “by His stripes we are healed”. [1 Pet.2:24] That is, He healed us already on the cross, when Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses. On such-and-such a date we simply received that healing by faith. Even before Jesus suffered on the cross He healed many, and Matthew writes: “that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'” [Mat.8:17] That is because the cross of Christ is outside time.

It’s the same with being born again, or regeneration. We were born again in Christ, and as Paul writes: “…in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” [Col.2:12] It is very important not to lose sight of the words “WITH HIM”, because they emphasise where and when we were born again. Peter writes the same: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again… through the resurrection of Jesus Christ…” [1 Pet.1:3]
