God’s Pearl
It is commonly held that when there are difficulties a person is closer to God, and when everything is fine he forgets about God. An interesting theory. It’s as if we spent time with our loved ones only when we feel bad, and remembered our friends only when things are hard. Not at all! We enjoy spending time with our loved ones when everything is wonderful, and sharing our joy with friends. [Luk.15:6,9] Is the Lord any worse than our loved ones and friends? Not at all! He is far better! And when we look at the Lord first of all as our beloved and closest friend, and not as a judge and Creator, we can spend time with Him and turn to Him not only when things are hard, but also share our joys, achievements and successes. So let us be glad in the Lord and rejoice, for the joy of the Lord is our strength. [Neh.8:10]
