We love Him because He first loved us.

The Bible is a magnificent journey on which the Holy Spirit takes us and opens up mysterious and unexplored places we never suspected existed. When He meets with you, the Holy Spirit always reveals Jesus, and Jesus reveals to us our heavenly Father and His beautiful love for us, which brings peace, rest and joy to our hearts.

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us [1 Jhn.4:10] He loved us with the same beautiful love with which He loves Jesus, because “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love“ [Eph.1:4] Looking at Jesus with eyes of love, the heavenly Father sees you holy and without blame, like Jesus. You are as dear to the Father as Jesus is! Only One can love with such true love, and Jesus reveals to us the whole fullness of God’s love: “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” [Jhn.15:9]

The heavenly Father sacrificed the dearest thing He had, His only Son, for you, sending Him to the cross to cleanse you and justify you. Testifying of love, Jesus Himself said: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” [Jhn.15:13] This is His love for you! How wonderful it is to know that you are loved, dear, understood, forgiven and free! You are loved and redeemed at the greatest price there is!

“God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” [1 Jhn.4:16] If God lives in us and pours out His love, how can we not love and not show this love? “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” [1 Jhn.4:7] So we love not because we must or because we try, or because we have a good heart. We love because He loves us. If you still have doubts that God loves you, the Bible says: “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.” [1 Jhn.4:15-16] Once a person has come to know this wonderful divine love, neither he nor his life can ever stay the same.

Prayer
Our dear heavenly Father, I thank You for Your love with which You loved me in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world. I thank You for Your love, which flows in my heart and pours out on my family and loved ones, on my brothers and friends. It is Your wonderful love that rules my heart and leads me. Let Your love go on filling me and giving me new revelations of my wonderful beloved Jesus Christ. Amen.
