One Revelation for Every Occasion in Life
At one time it occurred to me that our home group was somehow boring: all we ever talk about is Christ and what He did on the cross — “it’s rather monotonous…” The enemy was trying to distract my attention from what matters most, but back then I didn’t notice it and was overcome by doubts…
But suddenly, when I wasn’t even expecting it, during a conversation with a brother from our church — and we were talking about something else entirely — the Lord spoke to me: “All true Christianity rests on 2 things, which are essentially one:
1) Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross: the forgiveness of sins [past, present and future]. He has given us His righteousness and made us a new creation, created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness [Eph.4:24], and He has put His divine nature and His new divine life in us. [2 Pet.1:4]
2) Who we are in Him! In Christ we are children of God, joint heirs with Christ of all God’s blessings and resources!”
What would the church be like if the children of God grasped who they really are in Christ?!! I believe we are on our way there! This is the manifold grace, many-faceted like a precious stone that you can look at from different sides, seeing ever new facets and never ceasing to admire its beauty! [1 Pet.4:10]
And it isn’t boring! It feeds the inward man, holy and righteous, who is being renewed day by day. [2 Cor.4:16] It gives strength to receive the gift of righteousness and the abundance of grace in order to reign through the One, Jesus Christ. [1 Pet.1:2; Rom.5:17] The whole Bible cries out about Christ from beginning to end! It isn’t boring! It inspires, it brings life and peace! This is the spiritual mindedness described in Romans 8:6 — thinking about Christ and what He has accomplished! And the Word of God also tells us not to be carried about with various and strange doctrines, but to establish our hearts by grace! [Heb.13:9] Because only grace, which in its essence is Christ Himself, gives us true strength for our daily walk in Christ and in grace!
