New Jerusalem

And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light [was] like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal

When we look at ourselves we see our minuses, mistakes and imperfections. We avoid God consciously or unconsciously, because we know that God is light and this light will reveal our uncleanness. If we knew how God sees us, we would come boldly to His presence and spend time with Him with gladness. The truth is that when God looks at us, He sees us as very precious gems which are like jasper in appearance. Why He sees us like this? Because He doesn’t see us in our mistakes or imperfections. He sees us in Christ Jesus. The Word of God says that we were raised with Christ, and our life in hidden with Him in God (Col 3:1,3) Also God raised us with Christ, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph 2:6).

If we set our minds on the things above, where Jesus sits on the right hand of God, we see Him who sit on the throne was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance (Rev 4:3). Jasper is the sixth stone that was laid in the foundation of the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:20). The number six speaks of the humanity of Him that sits on the throne, because the number six is the number of man. (Rev 13:18) Our Lord was born in human body to be our Redeemer, our High Priest and Advocate before the Father. The Bible says that Christ “had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” (Heb 2:17-18)

The precious jasper stone was laid first in the foundation of the city. What we can learn from this stone and why He who sits on the throne looks like it? Jesus said: “I am the Alpha and the Omega” (Rev 1:11) Jesus often said “I AM” when He testified about Himself. That is why parities and lawyers were mad at Him and wanted to stone Him. The Lord God called Himself “I AM” or “I AM THAT I AM” when He revealed Himself to Moses, when He talk to Him from the burning bush. In Hebrew the jasper stone would be yashpeh. It means He reveals.

Nature of God is to Reveal His Son

Before Abraham believed the Lord, the Word of the Lord came to Abram in the vision and said: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” (Gen 15:1) The Word of the Lord revealed the reward to Abraham. What si this reward? The Lord revealed to Abraham that from his loins will come the seed, and it will be the heir of the world. We already know that this seed is Christ, because Paul wrote in his epistle to Galatians: “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as of many, but as of one, ‘And to your Seed,’ who is Christ.” (Gal 3:16)

After that the Lord brought Abraham from the tent and said: “Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them… So shall thy seed be” (Gen 15:5 KJV) In Hebrew the words translated as tell and number are the same word saphar. It means to recount, to relate. In other words, the Lord said to Abraham: “Look toward the heaven and recount the story written in the stars, if you can recount. So shall you Seed be.” Watch the story of the stars…

In the epistle to Galatian churches Paul writes: “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, ‘In you all the nations shall be blessed.’” (Gal 3:8) When the Lord shoed Abraham the stars, the story was written in tem. It is the story about the Child being born of the virgin, who would be the Lamb of God. He would defeat sin, sickness and evil one, because He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah – King of kings and Lord of lords.

The Son of God Reveals the Father’s Heart

In the Gospel of John is written that “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” (John 1:18) Before the Son of God game into the word no one knew the true nature of God. Abraham was the friend of God and he knew Him as Almighty (Gen 17:1) Children of Israel have seen His hand – His works and Moses knew His ways, which is His rest (Psa 103:7) But nobody knew God’s heart, and the heart defines the nature and the identity. Jesus unfolded to us the heart of the Father God. That is why He said ti Philip: “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9) Why He said like this? Because Jesus is the heart of the Father in action.

The Son of Davis is the one of the dearest names of God that Jesus was called. Why David? Because Davis was the man after God’s heart (Act 13:22). The name Davis means beloved. Our wonderful and loving Savor came to reveal God’s love. He told Nicodemus: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) We can learn and comprehend the love of God only through Jesus Christ, because Christ is the love of God in action.

This love always gives and nothing askes in return: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Rom 8:32) This love always accepts us no matter what we have done: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8) This love is stronger than anything we can think of: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (Rom 8:35-39)
